Rob Huntley > L'Eglise St-Alphonse-de-Ligouri in Chapeau, Quebec. In the background is part of the village of Chapeau. We are looking at the downstream section of the north channel of the Ottawa River. Chapeau, Quebec is on Allumette Island (L'Isle-aux-Allumettes), a 22 km x 12 km island in the Ottawa River. Pembroke is on the Ontario side, beside the southern channel and Chapeau is on the Quebec side, beside the northern channel and situated on Allumette Island itself. The area also includes Morrison Island, Marcotte Island, and some smaller islands. This photo was taken from a camera suspended below a kite line (Kite Aerial Photography). Just because I use a rifle case to transport kites on airlines, it doesn't mean I own a firearm.
